BOOKLET SPINAL ANESTESI MENURUNKAN TINGKAT KECEMASAN PADA PASIEN SECTIO CAECAREA
Abstract
Metode: Jenis penelitian quasi experiment without control group.

SPINAL ANESTHESIA BOOKLETS REDUCEANXIETYLEVELS IN PATIENTS WITH CAESAREAN SECTION
ABSTRACT
Caesarean section surgery may result in potential and actual disorders in the integrity of patients which can generate a reaction to physiological and psychological stress so that a treatment is needed to reduce anxiety levels through health education about spinal anesthesia to patients with caesarean section in preanesthesia care using a booklet. Objective: To identify the effect of giving health education using spinal anesthesia booklets on anxiety in patients with caesarean section. Methods: This study belongs to a quasi-experiment without control group. The number of respondents was 24 people taken by using purposive sampling. The study used an instrument in the form of APAIS (Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Information Scale) questionnaire of which validity and reliability had been tested by 0.840-0849 and (a 0,852) respectively in 102 people. Data were collected on 12 November 2016-17 December 2016 at Dr. Tjitrowardojo Hospital, Purworejo, Central Java. Data were analyzed using paired t-test. Results: Most respondents (79.2%) experienced severe anxiety before undergoing anesthesia. After being given health education, more than half of the respondents (62.5%) experienced mild anxiety. The average score before intervention was 21.38 and after the intervention was 11.58. The results of paired t-test indicated that there was a significant decrease in the level of anxiety from before to after giving the health education. Conclusion: Health education using spinal anesthesia booklets can be used to complement interventions that already exist in the hospital and it is necessary to conduct further research using a control group and a larger number of samples
